Upcoming Classes

In this class we will paint three galaxy themed panels, one as a painting and two for card fronts. We will use three different mediums and vary our techniques. We will have a range of colours to work with so each galaxy created will be an original work of art.

Please bring the following: adhesive, round watercolour brushes size 1- 2 and 4-6 and 8-12, paper trimmer, acrylic block, water jar, water spritzer, white gel pen, impermeable craft mat, firm surface to tape your paper to, painter’s tape

Optional but helpful:  Heat tool, MISTI or stamp positioning tool, brusho or colorburst paints if you have them, distress oxide ink pads in colours of your choice (including black soot if you have it) gansai tambi or other pan paints. We will use no more than four colours in each painting so feel free to bring a small selection of your paints or oxide pads rather than the whole set if you wish.

Note about watercolour paper used: I used both hot pressed and cold pressed 100% cotton watercolour blocks to create these projects. If you are interested in working on a watercolour block rather than individual sheets the blocks will be available for pre-order from Crop A While. The brand is Fluid 100. If you already have your own watercolour block you wish to work on please feel free to bring it to class. (I will have watercolour panels for everyone regardless)

Any plans for classes in the spring with the new Penny Black “So Special” floral Slapstick Clings?

    • Heather says:

Hi Shirley, I will be including some of the new Slapstick cling stamps in upcoming classes starting either March or April.

      • shirley says:

Look forward to them! I will keep an eye open for the April classes. I will be driving from Toronto and since March weather can be unpredictable it will be safer for me to think April. I attended two of your classes at Bizzy B’s in Toronto a year or so ago. Unfortunately as you probably know Bizzy B closed last summer.

  16. […] If you are ever to the Ottawa area, check out taking one of her classes! […]

  17. myrna sweet says:

Just attended another fabulous class with Heather. For this class she showed us how you can make stunning backgrounds/cards using only 3 primary colours of brusho watercolour powders. The results were wonderful, and now I can go back to my old stamps and use them in many different ways. If I come away with 1 good idea from a class I think it was well worth it, but this class we learnt numerous ideals thus making the class priceless. I have already signed up for her next class!

  18. Cindy says:

Count me in for video classes! I live in Illinois and I love your work. I would like to do more with watercolor but can’t seem to get over my fears.

  19. 3kidmama says:

Another faithful blog reader and SUPERFAN – who would LOVE to take an online class from you, Heather! Please let us know if something that that is ever in the works! Meanwhile, I keep loving your lovely videos with your soothing teaching voice. 🙂

  20. myrna sweet says:

Just attended Heather’s latest class making bright and colourful cards using Darkroom Door stamps. We had a great time and the cards we made-Priceless! I would highly recommend taking one of her classes. I live in Belleville and the drive to and back is over 6 hours, but it is totally worth it. If you are from out of town, grab a friend, stay over night and have a fabulous girl’s weekend in Ottawa!
