Merry Christmas with holly
Posted: December 21, 2013 Filed under: A Wish for Peace, CAS, Dies | Tags: Fabriano Watercolour Paper, Penny Black creative dies, Penny Black stamps, Ranger Distress stains, Tsukineko Memento inks 6 CommentsThese two cards are the result of some playing around with distress stains on watercolour paper. For the one above I stamped the holly (in memento ink) and coloured it(with distress stain) first, added the background (distress stain) with a paintbrush and stamped the letter background (memento ink) over everything. For the ornaments below I painted a wash of blue first and stamped the holly and music over the wash. Because the distress stain and the memento ink are both dye inks the colour intensified when I painted green over the blue background. The baubles were cut using the Penny Black die “ornaments.”
I finally sat down yesterday and wrote in 90% of my Christmas cards. I still have a few to write. Yes, I know there are only a few days before Christmas Day, but there are twelve days of Christmas aren’t there?
(the card above has balance issues; can you see them?)

Circle vignettes
Posted: October 25, 2012 Filed under: A Wish for Peace, CAS, Christmas Lights, Christmas Music 22 CommentsWhen I was making the emboss resist snowflake cards recently I rediscovered my nestabilities dies and started cutting circle masks to play with.
For the card above I stamped the background stamp first then added the Christmas bough in black over the top. I added colour with both coloured pencils and sponging. On the card below the collage is all in the one stamp so I inked it with pistachio ink and again added colour with pencils and sponging. I restamped a few snowflakes in black because they didn’t look quite right in green ( not that I’ve ever seen a black one, mind you!)
Supplies:
Stamps: Christmas Lights, Diamond Pattern, Christmas Music, Hello Winter, A wish for Peace (Penny Black)
Inks: Memento Pistachio, Summer Sky, Danube Blue and Versafine Onyx Black(Tsukineko)

Les Petites
Posted: September 5, 2012 Filed under: A Wish for Peace, CAS, Penny Black, Stamped Landscapes 11 CommentsYesterday I featured the lovely new patterned paper from Penny Black; today I have a little card to share. My card is made using Les Petites the sweet little pre-folded cards with coloured envelopes which are available from Penny Black.
The cards are 12 x 8.6cm (4¾”x3 3/8″) and are perfect for a little note.
I opted for petite stamps to create my little snow scene. The tiny spotted tree and the spotted swirl are from the transparent set ” A Wish for Peace”. The tree is embossed in clear embossing powder and all the sponging and stamping is done with Memento Teal Zeal ink.
