You’ve seen me use the ‘this way’ stamp behind a trio of butterflies and a classic car as well as featured on a journal page. It reminds me a little of tire tread so I have paired it again with some vehicles. For this motorbike card I masked the edges of a cream panel and stamped ‘this way’ and ‘brushed stars’ in antique linen distress ink.

After removing the masking tape I added one of the motorcycles from the classic motorcyles set in black along with a little happy birthday. I haven’t masked edges like this in a while but it makes it easy to make a simple but eye catching one layer card. You could fill the masked area with any stamping you wanted then add a bold black image over the top.

I also used ‘this way’ in the vintage style watercolour background of this card. I combined, the arrow pattern of ‘this way’ with postage stamps and world map. There is also splatter and a torn edge to keep the background looking aged. I stamped the DD vintage card on teabags and added stitching and word labels to complete the card.

Teabags? Yowza! That is seriously super clever! I also like the taped edges on the motorcycle card. Your background layers are eye catching. It is the little things that make your cards wonderful works of art.
These are fantastic masculine card! Love the creative backgrounds on both of them. I particularly love the vintage look on that car. The stamping on a tea bag is sheer genius! Thank you for all the inspiration!
Super cards. Love the colours.
Wonderful. Those cards took me immediately to your grandparents (but I expect you knew that) Each provides strong rich memories of of my parents. The motor bike was replaced before I came on the scene but it is the subject of a memorable photograph and reflected in the bikes now riden by your brothers, especially the Harley Davidson. The car with the ‘dickie’ seat was the first of only five cars owned by your grandparents, each immaculately cared for; one which I remember and probably travelled in at a very young age.
I am not sure about the reference to ‘birthdays’ in the header, unless it is a reference to one later this week. In which case, I add my thanks.
Oh, by the way, they are both great cards! Thank you.
Two great masculine images and I love the backgrounds you have made Heather. The first with the super motorcycle looks great with the fairly simple look of the multi arrow and the stars, and then the more watercoloured look of the wonderful background to go with that lovely vintage car, and such beautiful colours too Heather. x
