Rose Dance & a Giveaway

When I first posted a card with the PB ‘rose dance‘ stamp I mentioned I’d been putting it to work with several techniques. To create this card I worked on hot pressed watercolour paper with papertrey ink cubes.

With the stamp and paper in the stamp positioner I inked the roses in ‘royal velvet’ and a few dabs of ‘pure poppy’ inks, spritzed then stamped. I used three different greens (listed below) for the leaves and stems. The papertrey ink cubes are fairly juicy to start with but with a spritz of water before stamping the ink is wet enough to blend into the petals and leaves.

When it came to putting the card together I decided to mix things up a little by cutting out the main image on an angle before adding some dimension with a few extra layers of cardstock. The Waffle Flower A2 layer dies and additional layer dies made it possible to cut the image from the panel, cut a scrap the same size to fit in the space and cut a slightly larger green mat before putting it back together. I pulled out an older PB sentiment set ‘kind words’ and stamped the message in dusty concord archival ink.
This technique is covered in lessons 2 of my new online class FLORAL FAVES. The lessons cover a range of my favourite techniques, some simple and elegant, others requiring more time and fine detail but all outlined clearly on video so they can become your favourites too! Registration opens tomorrow and I will have all the information in tomorrow’s blog post.
If you would like to win a place in the FLORAL FAVES class please comment below telling me one of your favourite flower stamps. I will randomly pick a winner and announce it here on the blog on Monday.

What a beautiful card, your coloring brought the image to life…I can almost smell those pretty blooms! My favorite flower is the Daisy, followed closely by Dahlias! Have a great day!
Well it sure would be a lucky day if I won a place in your new class. This card is beautiful and I would definitely like to give it a go!!!
My favorite floral stamp right now is Penny Black’s DELIGHT painted and stamped with Arteza
TwiMarkers. In fact I just finished a card using the above mentioned products. And I am very pleased and really love what I am doing.
It’s fun to follow you Heather – you are a very talented artist!
Sandy xx
Thank you so much, Sandy. I am a big fan of the Delight stamp too; I like how delicate and airy it is.
Heather this is such a lovely card – as always. I think my favourite flower stamp right now is called Hand-Penned Petals from Stampin’ Up! Of course this changes as soon as the next new floral stamps come out! From Penny Black I am also loving the Delight stamp. I haven’t got it yet but it’s in my wish list! I would love to win a class from you – I have taken several of them and they are wonderful!
I’m so glad you have enjoyed my classes. I looked up the ‘hand-penned petals stamp set and I can see why it’s a favourite, so many possibilities!
Wow! What magnificent colors. Those inks seemed to blend beautifully. I could only hope to water color like this. I have many Penny Black florals and although hard to choose a favorite I’d say Dancing Daisies.
Thank you Nancy.
Dancing Daisies is a beauty. After it was mentioned here in the comments three times I pulled it out and created two new cards with it. One for the FLORAL FAVES class and one for the blog tomorrow.
Beautiful!

Gorgeous card! I love the design and colors! The effect of the layering to frame the design is so pretty!
My favorite flower stamp is Penny Black’s ‘Together’. It reminds me of the agapanthus plants my grandmother grew in her yard.
A beautiful card, Heather! My favourite flower stamp at the moment is Lovely Lilacs by PB. Looking forward to your class!
Thank you, I agree with you on the lilacs stamp; it’s a favourite of mine too!
Love your Rose Dance card. The colours are striking.
Favourite stamp right now is Dancing Daisies or maybe Hollyhocks. They are all so beautiful.
Thank you for a chance to join your class.
Trying to find how to sign up for the class. As usual, whatever flower you use, at that time, is a favorite. I am a sucker for such beauty and the techniques you use.
I bought the older dancing daisys.
I need stamps that I can use many times, with each time, appearing to be new.
Thank you for all that you share.

Oops. I missed it earlier on when to sign up. Will check it out Thursday.
Your classes are a joy because the site is easy to navigate and I can go back as often as I like. Another plus is the site knows the clients without us having to jump through hoops.

Beautiful flower, just love all your work. My favorite Penny Black flower stamp is the wildflowers Delight stamps, so many coloring possibilities.
I LOVE PEONIES! I can’t wait to try your great techniques in a new class!
This is such a beautiful card! Loving the watercolor look and gorgeous colors!
I love so many floral stamps, most are by Penny Black, one of my favorites is “Awaken” as an outline stamp and “The Unfolding” as a brushstroke stamp.
Beautiful roses….love the color combination! My favorite flower stamp is Penny Black Spleniforous
oh that’s so lovely. I don’t have any of the Penny Black stamps but love seeing your creations
Beautiful card! I love PB flowers but must admit one of my favorite is Wplus9 Kind Soul becaue I can use it so many ways.
So pretty! Penny Black has some of the best florals. I have a couple I play with!
I always am amazed at your creations! Unfortunately I do not comment often, but I always look at your posts! Penny Black has some awesome florals and one I use frequently is First Blush. I also have a wonderful large sunflower that I find myself reaching for often. Your techniques always intrigue me and it would be wonderful to win a spot in your class!
My favourite flower? The deep blue hydrangeas of Maroo Street, closely followed by the roses in my current garden. Now passed their seasonal prime, they have given me and others great pleasure over recent months. If I win a place in your class, does the prize include travel expenses and a Covid travel pass? By the way – another beautiful card that I would be pleased to give to a friend..
I enjoy your beautiful cards, my favorite flower stamp is “ Poppy Gems” by Penny Black
beautiful card Heather – would love to win a spot in your class – one of my favorite flower stamps is the Hero Arts/Gina K collaboration set “Friendship Blooms”. Of course, any floral from Altenew is gorgeous too!
These flowers are gorgeous Heather and a great colour combination too using papertrey inks this time and the straight to stamp and some spritzing has give that wonderful soft effect, and like that you have placed them on the slant which gives a completely diffierent look and with a pretty mat behind them too. I find it very difficult to choose a favourite floral stamp, but I do love the Penny Black Ranunculus flowers in a jug, i.e. Companions which is on my wish list because these are flowers that don’t often get made into stamps and they are beauties. x
Wow that is just beautiful coloring!!
My favorite Penny Black stamp is a very old one, Poised! It’s a single tulip and is beautiful painted with Twinkling H2O’s. I would love to learn your beautiful techniques for flowers.

I love the combo of purple and pink in your card. One of my favorite floral stamps is Penny Black Poppy Time. I reach for it over and over since it works as the spotlight on a card or as part of a grungy or collage card. I would love to take your Floral Faves class and learn more ways to use my flower stamps!
As always, I’m so inspired by your creativeness. I think my most favorite flower stamp set is the first set I ever bought many years ago; In Full Bloom by Stampin’ Up. It’s a wood mount that I have considered unmounting but have never done so. It’s a very loved and highly used set.
The class looks brilliant, I always enjoy your videos as they’re so relaxing as well as educational. My favourite flower stamps are Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms, an oldie but goodie!
You have a knack for choosing the perfect ink colors and show us beautiful combinations that I wouldn’t have thought of! Glad to see you will be offering a new class!
One of the first floral stamps I bought, and one I continually return to, is Ranunculus Field from Stampendous.
Your cards are always so beautiful💜 I pondered for a day about my favourite floral stamp. I chose the set I use most often. I use the Tim Holtz Wildflowers silhouette dies for most of my envelopes and also on gift bags. I used them to decorate craft lunch bags holding masks I made for a few neighbours.💜
My favorite flower stamps, handsdown, and probably because of you, is Penny Black’s Lovely Lilac. Also makes great forsythias! Thank you for all you show us, Heather.
I have cut back on many stamping posts, but I continue to look forward to yours. I love all flowers and we are blessed here in Idaho with an abundance of wild flowers. The delicate lady slipper, orchid of the forest, is one of my favorite wildflowers, partly because my.mother loved them and just because they are so sweet smelling and beautiful.
Beautiful card, Heather. Each time I get a new flower stamp, it becomes my favorite. I have too many to pick one!
I always drool over your floral colouring, and this card is no exception. So I am looking forward to picking up some tips and techniques from you in your class. I have always enjoyed working with the Darkroom Door Fine Flowers set.
Your card is beautifully done, and I like the angle variation. A recent favorite stamp set is Summer Sketches from The Greetery. I’d love to take one of your classes.
Okay…I have thought and thought and I cannot name a favorite flower stamp!…it would definitely be one that YOU have shown and I have a wonderful stash of PB floral stamps, thanks to your inspirational work! ☺ I am a little ‘nervous’ but super excited to take your class!!!!♥ When I saw this card, I was speechless. Love the colour blending…everything is exquisite! ♥

Another beautiful card, Heather. I love your treatment of flowers. They seem to come alive on the paper. I love a lot of the Penny Black florals, but the CAPTIVATING stamp of fuchsias is my current favorite. Thank you for the chance to win a spot in your class.
One of my favorite floral stamps is wildflowers and ferns by That’s Crafty. It has lovely detail.
You have a true talent for making flowers come alive and absolutely beautiful , which ever technique you choose. My fondness in floral stamps leans toward Penny Black’s ‘Felicity’ and the simply elegant ‘Poppy Time’ stamp.
I grow many hanging fuchsias so I would have to say I love the new fuchsia stamp. Would love to learn how to watercolor it.
Gorgeous card Heather! LOVE the mix of colours for the blooms, and such an interesting technique. I have not had time to make it through the other classes, so will wait to sigh up for Floral Faves. Hope to get there eventually! 🙂 xx
Absolutely gorgeous, as usual. Am always amazed at how beautiful and realistic your floral cards are. The new Captivating stamp is beautiful. Would love to enjoy one of your classes.
