Holly Flourish 2 for 1

This isn’t the first 2 for 1 card combo I have posted. A few weeks back I did a similar thing with a striped watercolour background. Today’s cards are cut from gel printing clean up sheets. When gel printing I have a heavy weight art paper to the right of my gel plate where I roll off excess paint from the brayer. I cut this yellow, red and blue panel from one of those sheets.

The pretty Penny Black die is called ‘holly flourish’ and, as you can see fills a card front nicely. I have used the cut out below and splattered both negative and positive panels with gold paint. The cardstock is Neenah solar white and I added a gold cord detail to the card above.

I think the holly die cut is very nice but the fall colors don’t seem to make sense
w that die. and although the concept is ok on the first card, it seems that leaving the die cut just to be white, leaves something to be desired.

Looks easy and fast. Maybe I can make some fancy cards.

This is a generously sized die and so makes an impressive statement on both cards. It is always a happy situation to get two for one, especially when both are as lovely as these.

My papers that I use for rolling off the brayer when doing gelli plates never looked so good! What a great way to use up those colors and the 2 for 1 both turned out beautiful. I’m amazed you get such great prints from that. I must try this!

Both the positive and the negative holly images work beautifully using this piece of a mop up sheet of watercolour paper Heather, and love the added gold cord tied around with a bow to the front of the first. x
