Bethlehem Skyline (alcohol ink)

These Bethlehem scenes might be my favourite of all the alcohol ink Christmas cards I made in the summer. I really enjoyed making the wide skies which were large enough to cover a card front. For some I printed sentiments with alcohol lift ink and for others I left an open sky.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts I worked outside while the weather was pleasant so I wouldn’t have to deal with the alcohol fumes. For the soft blended skies I covered the Grafix white craft plastic panel with a generous amount of isopropyl alcohol then added a few lines of different coloured alcohol inks. With so much liquid on the panel I was able to gently tilt the panels back and forth to move the inks. While they were moving they were also drying and leaving the occasional hard line but mostly soft blends.

You can see in the group of four above that one panel was not done with the tilting method. The gold one was in my stash and was made on Grafix black craft plastic with alloys, pearls or mixatives which give a metallic effect.

The Bethlehem Skyline silhouettes were cut on the cricut and the design was created for me by my daughter. It’s available as a cutting file in our Echidna Studios etsy store. Thanks for dropping by today, believe it or not I have just a few more tree cards to show you!
