A blue night

I know I am jumping from leaves to snowflakes and back again but it’s that time of year. This was one of those designs that evolved as I went along. I first embossed the stamp in clear on white card. I then started sponging with Memento Nautical blue and added some definition on the scrolls at the base and in amongst the pine trees with a navy marker. At some point I decided to make a hint of a hill so I positioned a post-it note mask and added some darker blue sponging above the mask and around the edges of the panel. The panel is matted in white then popped up on a white card base.

Thanks again for all your kind comments; I am enjoying popping by your blogs to see what you have been doing and love to hear and see when you have enjoyed a technique you saw here on my blog. If you’re looking for the One Layer Wednesday challenge it will be on Karen’s blog tomorrow.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Crystal Drops (PB)
Inks: Memento Nautical Blue, Paris Dusk & Versamark(Tsukineko)
Also: Clear e.p.

Wow, This is really beautiful! I will have to try this technique, too. I know what you mean. I’m thinking Christmas and still working on a few last minute halloween cards. So many ideas, so little time.

Don’t have a problem with skipping from fall leaves to snowy trees! This is lovely. That hint of a hill — so subtly defined. Liked the marker touch too. Another thing to try. Thanks for sharing a lovely card and your work is so inspiring. Thanks for being so generous with your creativity. Hugs

I am so in love with your sponging technqiues, you really have a nautural talent and eye for
this! I have just got a few Jumbo daubers but found that my momento inks don’t transfer well onto my card, (a smooth white printer card which is all I can buy here in France). Any ips would be appreciated! I bought some post it notes today…I can’t wait to have a go at making snowy hills! Thank you so much for your nspiration…I want to ink like you when I grow up!!!!!
