Colour inspiration
Posted: October 19, 2012 Filed under: CAS, Wishing You 8 CommentsThe Penny Black designers are taking Colour inspiration from Pinterest again today. If you check out the blog you will see some beautiful colour palettes with the projects they inspired.
I chose a colour palette that I am enjoying whenever I go outdoors these days. I punched a leaf out of a post it note then sponged Memento inks to create a little row of leaves. I spent the afternoon walking a trail with my son and a couple of friends and enjoyed plenty of fall colours and leaves as well as some local bird life.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You (Penny Black)
Inks: Memento Pistachio, Pear Tart, Rich Cocoa, Morocco & Tangelo(Tsukineko)

Pieces of Sky
Posted: August 12, 2012 Filed under: Birds on wire, CAS, OLW, Wishing You 21 CommentsI managed to create cards for two challenges this afternoon: the OLW challenge Cheryl set us to use some form of transportation and the Less is More challenge to feature fur or feathers. Let me tell you I was not overflowing with ideas for either challenge. But then I noticed the little airplane stamp in the set I used last week with the fish stamp. Perfect for transportation.
One of Chrissie’s cards for the Less is More challenge reminded me of my birds on a wire stamp, as yet uninked. Perfect for feathers.
Have a wonderful week.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You, Birds on Wire, Happy Birthday (PB)
Inks: Memento Summer Sky, Danube Blue, Nautical Blue, Sweet Plum, Versafine Onyx Black(Tsukineko)
Less is More Fishy
Posted: August 7, 2012 Filed under: CAS, Penny Black, Wishing You 39 CommentsThe challenge at Less is More this week is to use blue and green in a card. What better subject for a blue and green card than the ocean. I made the card below first because I wanted to try a narrow image panel then, because it worked, I did the same thing with a larger panel.
I masked first then sponged in blues and greens keeping the lightest sponging and shades at the top. When the panel was covered I used a straight strip of post-it to sponge rays with the lightest green, Memento New Sprout. Finally I dropped some water on the panel and added my fishy happy birthday stamp.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You (PB)
Inks: Memento New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves, Bahama Blue Nautical Blue & Teal Zeal (Tsukineko)
