Winter Wonder Online Class

I have a new online class which will be available on Friday, November 20 and registration is open now! My new class is full of snowy scenes, winter skies, frosty leaves and berries. I’ve created the class to provide step by step instruction for some of my favourite techniques along with plenty of inspiration for you to make your own winter wonder cards.
I think it might be best if you watch the promo below; you will get glimpses of all the projects and you’ll see the delightful animation my son and I made with Penny Black dies and Pink Fresh Studio alphabet dies.

I will be giving away a registration here on my blog. To enter you need to leave a comment below telling me your favourite thing about winter! (If you win but have already registered I’ll refund your registration fee) I will randomly draw a winner on Sunday evening (Nov 22) so you have a few days to enter.

As crazy as it sounds, I really do love winter. Sledding with the grandkids. Skating. Skiing. The way sound is so clear and crisp on those very cold cold days. Crisp snow beneath my feet and the crunch it makes. Hoar frost on the trees. Chickadees and other birds sitting all puffed up on the feeder. Sitting by the crackling fire with a good cup of coffee. Lots to love about winter!
I agree, especially the crispness of a clear day and the hoar frost on trees is beautiful.
This looks awesome, Heather. I have long admired your winter works of art and look forward to tips and tricks. My favorite part of winter is snow and we don’t get much of it here in NC. I guess that’s why I love it so much. And I love how the birds are all fluffed up sitting in a snowy tree or even better on snow covered berries.

What do I like about even a dull and rainy winter’s day like today (UK)? a lovely rainbow following unexpected hail, then fluffy, pink lined clouds.
While I love to shovel snow off the decks, (really!), my favorite part of winter is the landscape, changing colors, that electric purple that comes out on snow at dusk, that kind of thing. YOU know, Heather, it’s in your work, and why I love it!

What I love about winter is the beauty of our land. Yes..trees are bare but some evergreens are blended in. Beautiful shades of green. I only get one or two days 8r snow here. But it is beautiful.
Winter does mean chill or cold yet incredibly blue sky.
P.S. Looking forward to class. Learned a lot from last one.
Tish..still wearing a brace and screaming at my PT..but pain will be gone and all will be well onto strength and more rehab!
Usually itās the gathering of friends and family but this year is a wee bit different. We will have to get more creative to find ways to give love and some hope to others. For me that will definitely involve cards. I donāt have much money but I have some card making supplies and I am planning a little Santa covert doorstep operation Xmas eve.

I love all the different textures of snow, from powder to the gigantic snowflakes we sometimes get. And the crunching sound it makes underfoot. And skating on the canal. And then, thereās Christmas!

I enjoy the brightness that the snow brings. It makes moonlit evenings especially beautiful. Would live to be able to create it in a card,!
We don’t really have winter here in Australia where I live but your cards have always made me yearn to see fresh snow. Maybe one day I could travel to Canada and experience winter, you make it feels so beautiful
I love the cooler nights and the extra blanket on the bed! Always so welcome after the heat of the summer. š
In Australia, winter means it isnāt stinking hot! We can actually snuggle under a blanket at night, and enjoy hot soups and baked dinners.
Living in Minnesota for most of my 55 years of marriage, I have learned to appreciate the unique beauty of each season, especially winter because it often lasts 6 months. God has given us so much beauty in our seasons to give us Joy. Your God given talent to represent that seasonal beauty with different techniques is amazing. Thank you for sharing your talent with us through all your cards. I have never taken an online class, but if I am chosen, I will be so excited because I love your techniques and want to learn more.
I like snow-days – kids home from school, hot chocolates, relaxed schedules, sledding and taking snow-walks (the soft snow falling at night and reflecting off the street lights with silence broken only by the crunching of your boots, since no one is out driving around.)
I like the low angle of the sun, and the cloud scapes that appear in winter. I also like the slower pace of indoor evenings around a fire and snuggled up with puppy to watch Christmas movies.
Moved South to avoid all the things I liked about winter. lol But I wouldn’t miss taking your classes on how to make it look good on paper for anything. Thank you, thank you for sharing your talents again!
My favorite thing about winter is the surprise of hellebores blooming, beautiful winter skies and early daffodils. Also, the resident deer in our neighborhood visit more often and the birds are a constant source of entertainment and delight at the feeders.
I look forward to the first snow and the look of the nights all lit up. Thank you for the chance at a class spot.

When I was young and still living in the Netherlands, I enjoyed ice skating whenever there was sufficient ice. Now that I live in Crete, Greece, cold and wet wintrty days are for snuggling on the sofa (work permitting) or sitting out on the porch for an hour or so on warm and sunny days. And of course, cold weather is perfect for indoor crafting.

I love crisp clear days when the sun shines, but unfortunately here in the UK when the snow has been on the ground for more than a day it usually becomes softer, and then thaws a bit, and refreezes, which makes it treacherous under foot, so that is why I am not a fan…lol. Your drier air in Canada means it stays light and fluffy which is good. Here in Somerset a lovely walk by the coast, with an invigorating breeze bringing the smell of the sea and making you feel really alive is what I most love. No-one tackles winter watercolour scenes the way you do Heather and your online class will be great. x

I have to say that my favorite thing about winter is the snow and the way that the air feels and smells so crisp and clean.
Ce que j’aime en hiver, c’est les herbes “folles” et les arbres, oĆ¹ la neige c’est accumulĆ©s, oĆ¹ le givre laisse pendre ces stalagmites qui brillent au soleil.
Mais, cela n’est que rarement possible, dans la rĆ©gion parisienne oĆ¹ je vis, la neige n’est pas assez abondante, voir inexistante.
