What once was One Layer Wednesday is now One-Layer Simplicity and has its very own blog where each month you will find a new challenge dreamed up by one of the design team. The challenge will appear on the first of the month and you will have until the 24th to add your challenge entry. The first challenge hosted by Susan is to restock the shelves with whatever card you are short of.
I am short on birthday cards so I stamped these daisies in Smokey Gray versafine ink and coloured them with Faber-Castell polychromos pencils. I masked with post-its first to create two margins then used coloured the images and added a pale grey shadow around them and at the edge of the masks.
Go and check out all the entries for inspiration plus.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishes, Flower Festival (Penny Black)
Inks: Versafine Smokey Gray (Tsukineko)

Did you use mineral spirits with pencils? Thanks.
Hi Beverley,
No, I just blended pencil over pencil for this one.
What a beautiful card. Your coloring is just gorgeous.
Beautiful pencil coloring. Love the way you have blended the colors so well. Was interested to see that you didn’t use the mineral spirits to blend. Awesome look. TFS & Hugs
Nice card, lovely colored flowers! 🙂

That is such a pretty card. Beautiful pencil work. I wish I could do that!
So very pretty, Heather! I like the subtle definition the corner shadow gives to the entire image.
Yay! My last comment worked! I just want you to know I’m continually awestruck by your work and so happy I can finally tell you so outside of an email. Keep on keeping on!
So glad I can follow your posts. They are marvelous and I learn so much.
gorgeous depth achieved on this one layer card. A joy to visit here.
Oh, Heather! I adore the masking and sponging you did…so very, very subtle and beautiful. But your pencil coloring on this one is absolutely stunning! Great layout, too!
