Carols & Stencils

Here are a few more of my ‘bookish Christmas’ card ideas. I cut up a few vintage carol books to create unique cards. Where possible I have matched the stencil to the carol!

I created the tree stencils by die-cutting Grafix blue stencil film with Creative Expressions ‘Winter Pines’ dies.

All the nativity stencils are from a set I bought on Amazon a couple of years ago when I couldn’t find many nativity stencils in the craft stores. Sadly the set is a lot more expensive now.

If you don’t want to cut up carol books you could photocopy the music; I was able to buy a couple of books second hand so I didn’t mind turning the pages into cards. I decided against greetings or sentiments because there are plenty of words on the card fronts already!

very nice, Heather, might have a go if I find some carol words. This week, in a cupboard, I found a book of piano music, aged to a beautiful sepia, with the inscription, a bit faded “To Nance from Syd 5thFeb 1925”. (Nothing to do with the Sex Pistols!). Reluctant to cut up or discard.
I have a few of my own vintage books I am reluctant to cut up but the ones I pick up from thrift stores and sales are much easier to turn into something new!
Such a lovely idea, although I do cringe with the thought of cutting up vintage books!
I absolutely love these! Silhouettes are perfect against the music background. As a musician I have no problem with using music as art. I may just have to steal that idea. 😊
Beautiful cards…..TFS Heather!!!

These work brilliantly with the music script backgrounds and the two different nativity scenes, the three kings and then the two different pine tree ones which are all lovely Heather. There was only one carol which I hadn’t heard of or sung before and your images worked well with each…lots of carol singing coming up shortly which will be fun. x
such a cool look to these!
