Thriving
Posted: April 15, 2024 Filed under: Penny Black, thriving 5 CommentsWaiting for flowers? I have two daffodils in bloom so that’s a start. These sweet blooms are from the Penny Black clear set, ‘Thriving‘. I’m not sure what the plant is although the little star shaped flowers look familiar. I used distress inks and markers and a no-line watercolour technique featured in my online class Floral Faves.
The sentiment is from the Penny Black ‘Scripture‘ set. For no-line watercolour you need a neutral dye ink which will blend in as you add other colours. I used a soft stone, a grey ink from Papertrey Ink for this panel but sometimes choose a pale beige such as distress antique linen.

Lots of blooms here but nothing as pretty as these sweet purple flowers, Heather! I always enjoy the cards you do with this technique and appreciate the tips from your class.
How nice to have flowers already. We’re not there yet but we do have sunshine and no snow so that is progress. thanks for your kind words.
Hooray!! You’re posting again this lovely technique! I never tire of your perfection!
This is just gorgeous Heather, and I love the combination of the purple flowers and that more browny green tone for the leaves, and a lovely sentiment with a really pretty font. x
Beautiful, love those flowers!
