Autumn Sky

Using the stamp “Winter Sky” and an autumn palette I created a scene I’m not quite ready for yet. I’m in no hurry for summer to end but the card making world seems to be in fall-winter-Christmas mode!

To create this scene I masked the lower section so I could sponge a cloudy sky then removed the mask and sponged autumn tones on the lower section. I initially just sponged the three colours without masks but finished by moving a hill shaped mask around to create the hillside. I then added the stamp in brown, trimmed, matted and popped the panel up on dimensional tape.

I must apologize to all who have left questions in the comment section in the last few weeks; I haven’t forgotten you and will try to respond soon.  Thank you for all the lovely encouragement you have left me lately; you are very kind.

Supplies:

Inks:  Memento Cantaloupe, Peanut Brittle, Morocco, Summer Sky, Bahama Blue & Versafine Vintage Sepia (Tsukineko)

Your cards are so breathtaking…Sponging always sounds ‘so simple’, but gracious, when I’ve tried it, my results surely never look so beautiful as this. Would love to see a video of you at work when you are sponging. These autumn colors are so pretty, great with this particular stamp, and thanks so much for sharing your artistry.

Another beauty, Heather! Reminds me of some of the farm fields we were driving by yesterday. I’m like you — I’m holding on to summer for as long as possible! Hope you are having a terrific long weekend.

Your cards are gorgeous. Do you use a special card stock when sponge. Like watercolor paper. Thanks

Wonderful – the masking to create a landscape is a perfect representation of the landscape around here at the moment. I’m afraid there is a definite nip in the air first thing and last thing at night.
