Green and Simple
Posted: April 8, 2012 Filed under: CAS, Maidenhairs 27 CommentsThe weekly challenge at Less is More is to use three shades of green. So many of my stamps lend themselves to this theme so it was not hard to find a little greenery to play around with.
I created my montage of greens on a large scrap and then chose a smaller portion to feature. I brayered a background first, stamped the maiden hair stamp in three shades of green and added a tiny bit of the cool letter background stamp. I positioned the sentiment then the cropped the panel before finishing with a bit of sponging around the edges. I gave it a very tiny mat and popped it up on dimensionals.
On an entirely different note my clever 11 year-old son has spent the last two weeks creating a lego version of the Hunger Games trailer. Check it out if you’re interested.
Thanks for dropping by; I hope you are having a happy Easter.
Supplies:
Stamps: Maidenhairs, Smiling, Letter Background (PB)
Inks: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Always Artichoke (SU)
Cardstock: Flourishes Classic white, SU Always Artichoke

So many ideas I wish I’d thought of! This looks really good and I love that sentiment too.
Oh wow, Heather! That is simply stunning! A great sentiment too

The Hunger Games preview? Laugh out loud brilliant! Loved it! I say that having read the books but not seen the movie. (Have seen the original trailer, of course.)
On to your card, which _could_ also be related to The Hunger Games, with some (okay, considerable) imagination — beautiful! The greens work perfectly together.
Beautiful card!! Your son is very clever indeed!
Your son’s Movie Trailer exhibits such talent and imagination. Like Mom, like son!
Such a great card Heather 🙂 Viv xx

What a lovely composition. I love the shades of green, and that sentiment is just perfect. I’m a big fan of very thin framing on the base panel, and this is a perfect example why — the outline is totally understated, leaving the attention to the main panel. But without this thin outline, the main panel isn’t as striking. Beautiful card, Heather.
Beautiful!
Brilliant. Period.
Love theshades that you have used and the stamped image is lovely x
Lovely heather, small and beautiful and a wonderful sentiment!
