OLW 49: Green, Pink and Never Seen Ink
Posted: April 18, 2011 Filed under: Berry Branch 9 CommentsI haven’t had a chance to play along in any challenges lately as we have been very busy with violin related activities. Both my girls competed in the local Kiwanis Music Festival last week. On Saturday most of their ensemble came to our place to make truffles for a fundraiser. We rolled 2000 truffles in 2 hours and then they all left to play at a concert Saturday night. When Sunday afternoon arrived I took a little time to play with a new stamp from Penny Black. It was the perfect stamp to use with Pink and Green as Jennifer challenged in the One Layer Wednesday challenge this week.
I inked the whole stamp with Pretty in Pink then added Old Olive to the branches and twigs with a marker. I used a mask and sponging to create the bottom left corner. It shouldn’t be too long before I see blossoms like this on some of my trees.
Supplies:
Stamps: Berry Branch (Penny Black), Eastern Influences (SU)
Inks: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: SU Confetti White
Oh how pretty! You’re right, the pink & green challenge was perfect for this. Your cherry blossom tree is lovely, and the Oriental character is the perfect accent to it. Lovely spring card, Heather; thanks for sharing. Now too bad you can’t share some of those 2000 truffles with us, too!
WOW! You ROCKED this challenge!! Beautiful card~
Another ‘wow’ from me Heather! I’m interested in the idea of stamping the whole stamp in the pale colour and then going over the bits you want in the darker colour – must try that. I love the way only the side and bottom of the panel has a crisp edge.
Gorgeous card Heather, my favourite colours! Our trees look like that at the moment they are glorious, we are having a mini heatwave with temp in the 20’s. Looks good for Easter weekend. Hope you have a good one with lots of chocolate ;))

Beautiful card, so soft and pretty
Wow, this is so pretty! The bit of masking/sponging in the bottom corner finishes the card perfectly.
Hi Heather, this is a simply LOVELY card. Beautiful – thank you for sharing a moment of calm !
I looked at this stamp and I wondered what on earth could be done with it. I then look at your card and realise just how lacking in imagination I am. Fabulous card.
Oh. Wow! What an absolutely gorgeous card! It reminds me of a Monet painting.
Fab job on the challenge and thanks for playing along with OLW49!
