China Blue

img_4328card17.jpg

I have had a chance to play with one of new sets, Boho Backgrounds. The fine detail on the stamps combined with the Ballet Blue ink and cardstock reminded me of patterns on china plates. The layout is my take on Beate’s Weekend Sketch. I have sponged the edges of the large rectangle and the most of the small rectangle. To highlight the flower circle I embossed in white and raised it with stampin’ dimensionals. Punching out the circular image with the scallop punch from SU would have been quicker than cutting by hand but I don’t have that punch!

Supplies:

Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, Fundamental Phrases
Cardstock: Whisper white, Ballet Blue
Ink: Ballet Blue, Versamark
Also: corner rounder punch, white embossing powder, stampin’ dimensionals

I LOVE your card!!! So did you stamp the little background flowers in Ballet Blue, then sponge the same color over it? It looks fantastic! I can’t wait to get that set… Thanks for sharing an awesome idea!

    Hi Tanya,
thanks for dropping in and for your encouraging comments. I did stamp the background flowers first and then sponged around the edges, both with Ballet Blue. The photo makes it look like I sponged in the centre as well, but it is actually white.

  4. I LOVE monochromatic cards! Gorgeous!
