Warmest Greetings

This is my Make ‘n’ take for two home parties this week. I tried adding ribbon but it just didn’t seem to improve the card so I left it simple. In order to get the pink shade I stamped in Rose Red and stamped off on paper before stamping the image on the card.
Supplies:
Stamps: Snowflake Spot, Many Merry Messages
Inks: Rose Red, Bravo Burgandy, Bashful Blue
Cardstock: Bravo Burgandy, Bashful Blue, Confetti Cream
Winters’ Night

Some nights really do look like this after a fresh fall of snow. Once again I used Lovely as a Tree to create this winter scene but didn’t use embossing to put snow on the trees this time. The moon is embossed with clear embossing powder before sponging all around it with Night of Navy and Brocade Blue ink. Stamping the trees several times without re-inking gives the effect of distance.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Cardinal(the word Christmas), Island Blossoms( the moon)
Inks: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Versamark, Basic Black
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Also: Clear embossing powder, sponges

Navy and silver with a touch of burgandy were all I used for this simple Bethlehem scene. Navy and silver are a stylish combination for Christmas cards.
Supplies:
Stamps: City of David
Inks: Versamark
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Brushed Silver
Also: Silver embossing powder, Burgandy grosgrain ribbon, Silver cord
October Stampers’ Club

Everyone at Stampers’ Club was happy to get going on Christmas cards this month. I decided to demonstrate a technique for making the trees appear laden with snow. First I stamped the trees in Handsome Hunter and then inked the same stamp with Versamark and stamped a little above the first image. I embossed with clear embossing powder before sponging with basic black. The embossed area resists the black ink and appears as snow on the branches. Some people added a moon in the sky by stamping a circle in versamark also.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Many Merry Messages
Inks: Handsome Hunter, Versamark, Basic Black
Cardstock: Handsome Hunter, Real Red, Whisper White
Also: Clear embossing powder, sponge, red grosgrain ribbon

Our second card featured the designer paper ‘Cerise’ which seems so Nordic to me! Everyone commented that it was a quick card to make, which it was, once I had determined the sizes of the squares and how many to make (that took me so long that my younger daughter finally gave me a talking to, told me it was fine and it was time to move on!)
Supplies:
Stamps: Snowflake Spot
Inks: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Cerise d.p.
The next day I made another one with left over pieces and fiddled a bit more and added another couple of layers.
Scandinavian snowflake
Posted: October 16, 2007 Filed under: Perfect Presentation Leave a commentWhen I opened my pack of Cerise designer paper from SU I immediately thought of the Scandinavian sweaters with intricate patterns. Hence the title of the post. I stamped the snowflake from Perfect Presentation in white craft and then embossed it with irridescent ice e.p. The idea for the layout came from Laurie’s card here.
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Presentation, Many Merry Messages
Inks: Real Red, White Craft
Cardstock: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Cerise d.p..
Also: Irridescent e.p., red grosgrain ribbon
Peace
Posted: October 9, 2007 Filed under: Lovely as a Tree Leave a commentThis is a favourite from the cards I made last year. I was inspired by this beautiful card by Debbie Olsen. Lovely as a Tree is great set all year round but I probably use it most at this time of year. I will have a few new Lovely as a Tree designs to share over the next few weeks but I thought I’d show you this one first.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, All Year Round
Inks: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Versamark, Basic Black
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
Also: White and clear embossing powder, versamarker, sponges
Choosing a tree
Posted: October 8, 2007 Filed under: Loads of Love Leave a commentI had fun with this little truck from Loads of Love. Each time I started a card, I considered colours to make the truck, but red seemed to be the only option. Perhaps if I wasn’t making Christmas cards it would be different. When I finished this one, my daughter commented that it must be “choosing a tree in Australia as there is sand on the ground not snow.” I have chosen trees from Christmas Tree farms in both Australia and Canada and it is a very different experience, that’s for sure!
I stamped the truck on Real Red c.s. and cut it out before stamping the whole piece with the versamark and embossing with clear e.p. The wheels were stamped on white and coloured with watercolour pencils.
Supplies:
Stamps: Loads of Love
Inks: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Versa mark
Cardstock: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Whisper White
Also: Red gingham ribbon, Watercolour pencils, sponges
