Gingerbread Creations
Posted: December 15, 2008 Filed under: Non paper crafts 3 CommentsI mentioned a while ago that my dining room table and kitchen counters were covered in gingerbread creations in their varying states of completion. Well, all have been competed and carted off to the competition at a local museum. Several people asked to see them so I have a picture of each of the designs my children had a part in making.
The village below was made by my son (centre) and his two eight year old buddies. Each child made two houses and they landscaped together.

My younger daughter(centre) and two friends designed and created the country church and surrounding yard.

My eldest (left) and two friends designed, assembled and decorated the dollhouse replica.

If you would like to see more there are some details and close ups on my family blog

Heather, thanks for sharing these pics! All did a terrific job! Good Luck in the contest!
Heather…I am an Ottawa resident too and saw you eldest daughter’s house featured on the upcoming events page in the back of the Hunt Club Riverside News this week. I recognized it because I had seen it on the blog just days before. Was curious to know what Museum these were on display at…all of your creations looked like award winners to me. What a great project to promote problem solving, design and cooperation among your kids and their partners….and with very impressive results!
The gingerbread houses are at the Nepean Muxeum.
Thanks for mentioning they are in the local paper, I haven’t seen one yet this week. I will hunt one down.
