October Stampers’ Club

Everyone at Stampers’ Club was happy to get going on Christmas cards this month. I decided to demonstrate a technique for making the trees appear laden with snow. First I stamped the trees in Handsome Hunter and then inked the same stamp with Versamark and stamped a little above the first image. I embossed with clear embossing powder before sponging with basic black. The embossed area resists the black ink and appears as snow on the branches. Some people added a moon in the sky by stamping a circle in versamark also.

Supplies:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Many Merry Messages
Inks: Handsome Hunter, Versamark, Basic Black
Cardstock: Handsome Hunter, Real Red, Whisper White
Also: Clear embossing powder, sponge, red grosgrain ribbon

Our second card featured the designer paper ‘Cerise’ which seems so Nordic to me! Everyone commented that it was a quick card to make, which it was, once I had determined the sizes of the squares and how many to make (that took me so long that my younger daughter finally gave me a talking to, told me it was fine and it was time to move on!)

Supplies:

Stamps: Snowflake Spot
Inks: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Cerise d.p.

The next day I made another one with left over pieces and fiddled a bit more and added another couple of layers.img_3681card37.jpg
