The inspiration for this card is the stunning inside panel of a card by Teneale Williams. Hers has more definition and gorgeous colour; mine is a shabby chic version!
My background colour was applied with a brayer this time after I masked the panel with post-it notes. The floral stamp is Flamboyant from Penny Black and was inked with markers. There is also a faint impression of the Letter background stamp and the sentiment from the Penny Black transparent set Gratitude. To finish I dropped some water here and there.
Thank you again for dropping in here, I appreciate your visits and enjoy all your comments and encouragement.
Although in today’s card the flowers from the Penny Black set Delicate Florals are the feature I had fun layering colours and images for the background strip. After masking the narrow vertical strip I sponged in greens and plum colours before stamping the music background and the small floral stamp from Delicate florals, both in green. I then removed the masks and added the flowers and sentiment in black.
The weekly challenge at Less is More is to use three shades of green. So many of my stamps lend themselves to this theme so it was not hard to find a little greenery to play around with.
I created my montage of greens on a large scrap and then chose a smaller portion to feature. I brayered a background first, stamped the maiden hair stamp in three shades of green and added a tiny bit of the cool letter background stamp. I positioned the sentiment then the cropped the panel before finishing with a bit of sponging around the edges. I gave it a very tiny mat and popped it up on dimensionals.
On an entirely different note my clever 11 year-old son has spent the last two weeks creating a lego version of the Hunger Games trailer. Check it out if you’re interested.
Thanks for dropping by; I hope you are having a happy Easter.
The Penny Black Blog is featuring mini cards today so I made a threesome using the glamorous girls from the Hello Gorgeous set. The transparent set includes the three girls plus all their accessories.
My little cards are 2 ½” x 4 ¼” . I masked each one on all four sides then sponged in a light colour before stamping the accessories randomly in the same colour. After removing the post-it masks I stamped the girls and sentiments from the Wishes set in a darker shade.
Head over to the Penny Black blog to see some more mini cards today and gorgeous tags tomorrow.
